Why Should I Hire an Event Planner for My Wedding?

The event planning industry has changed drastically over the years. It has become a priority for those planning a special day. It is important to have someone who will be your right-hand person throughout your planning process.

Your event planner will be there for you every step of the way and will be one of your biggest advocates.

I am going to share with you the many reasons why hiring an event planner will be one of the best decisions you could make:

1. Knowledge:


Event planners are filled with endless knowledge down to the smallest detail. They have relationships built with vendors (which helps eliminate a lot of work for you). Event planners also know proper wedding etiquette and can help you manage this. 

2. Experience: 


Your event can thrive off of many different things (Pinterest boards, DIY projects, proper connections, etc.). Most Brides aren’t familiar with the world of event planning and wedding coordinating. Hiring a planner allows you to skip the time and energy it takes to figure out how the industry works and allows you to immediately bring years of expertise into the process. A planner can provide you with ideas, suggestions, solutions, and a plan of A-Z.

3. Timeline and Schedule:


Planning an event of any kind can be extremely time-consuming. From guest lists, to invitations, to contacting vendors and scheduling, it is a lot for one person to take on. Being an event planner, (aka- organized and OCD), one of my favorite things to do is stay on a schedule and check things off. A planner will provide you with start to finish details and timelines that will make your event a success! 

4. Budget:


Once your budget is determined, an event planner will help you manage this. They will contact vendors and help you determine decor that you love and is within your price range.  It is helpful to have someone to do this for you because it can get expensive quick! Event planners are able to do this and follow through with promises made down to the day-of the event. Worrying about a budget should be the last thing on a couple’s mind as they are celebrating their special night!

5. Vision:


My favorite thing that an event planner can do for you is allow your vision to become a reality (from big picture to every single detail). I absolutely love hearing a couple’s vision and helping their dreams come true. It is extremely enjoyable to see a client's face when it all comes together.

6. Stress:


Personally, I feel that the most important thing that an event planner does is cuts down on the amount of stress. Event planning was recently named one of the top 5 most stressful occupations. Can you imagine having to take on being a full time event planner for your own event, plus your regular job and other daily activities? This can be stressful due to constantly having opinions being thrown at you, dealing with differences of friends and family, worrying about costs, etc. This is where an event planner takes that stress off of you and works alongside of you to ensure your event is everything you envisioned. Weddings are very emotional for brides, their grooms and their families. It’s these emotions that make it such a memorable time in the couple’s life. This is why it’s important to have your planner with you every step of the way to help create your most memorable night and leave the stress at the door.
